In an effort to engage the youth of our community, ensure future generations of firefighters and have a positive impact on young adults, the Milltown Fire Department has reinstated the Junior Firefighter’s Auxiliary authorized under Section 12-12 of the Revised General Ordinances of the Borough of Milltown. The Junior Firefighter’s Auxiliary was previously operated under the program name of “Fire Explorers” but will now be known as “Cadet Firefighters.” Individuals participating in the Junior Firefighter’s Auxiliary shall be known as “Cadets.”
Applicants must be at least 16 years old and are eligible until the applicant’s 18th birthday. Applicants must have resided within the Borough of Milltown for at least 6 months prior to appointment as a Cadet.
Applicants must complete and execute a Cadet Firefighters Application; and agree to abide by the rules and guidelines of the Cadet Firefighters program.
Parent(s)/guardian(s) of the applicant must consent, in writing, to the participation of the applicant in the Cadet Firefighters program; and acknowledge that the applicant must abide by the rules and guidelines of the Cadet Firefighters program.
All applicants must have a current physical examination on record and be approved, in writing, by applicant’s physician to perform the tasks associated with firefighting; including the completion and execution of a Cadet Firefighter Program Medical Physical Form by the applicant’s physician.
